Where you trying to run that command with Ghost 14 already installed?  From Run are you able to browse to the install folder on the CD?  If so, try browsing to it first and then adding the parameters after the fact.  Also, make sure no version of Ghost is installed before running this command.

Hi Eric,

First, thanks for your response.

To answer your first question, NO, I was not trying to run the command AFTER installation, but I still had Ghost 9.0 installed, so I uninstalled it.

Now, I got it to work, but it was weird...

Browsing to the Install folder via the Run dialog worked, but the command would not work from the popup window (which showed SETUP.EXE inside the Install folder), so I tried again by adding the CD drive's location as well, but that still didn't work, so this is what finally worked:

-  From the Run dialog, I typed "G:\Install\" and then added the command, as if it were all one command, and then hit OK.

-  The CD's drive was heard spooling up and the HDD was being written to (but there was never any Norton/Ghost splash screen or dialog box that appeared--only my desktop was visible and nothing was shown in the Taskbar as running--a very ghostly install).

-  COM Surrogate asked ZoneAlarm for permission to access...

-  LiveUpdate asked ZoneAlarm for permission to access...

-  The computer rebooted on its own, without asking permission and without warning (a very ghostly install, all 'round).

-  I got a blank Norton Ghost 14.0 splash screen at bootup.

Ghost 14.0 appears to be fine, although LiveUpdate fails to download an update that it already downloaded (but it tells itself that it already has the update downloaded, but maybe it's just not installed?), so I guess I'll have to try reinstalling LiveUpdate...

Anyway, THANKS for your help.

It would be beneficial if the Install Instructions/Known Issues could be revised to be more clear for future users.

Regards,

Mike

Sorry for mistakenly typing EriC instead of EriK!

Not a problem I get it all the time.  I'll pass the feedback along about the help content, but I'l aslo make sure we have a good document on this on the web.
