GHOST 14 Knocked me down and I can't get up-or use my cloned drive

Problem

Following previous tips from the Community BB, I attempted to clone a new 500 GB HD on my Dell XPS 410, runnig Vista HP. The result is that the computer doesn't recognize the second drive in the "computer"(explorer) window. I can see the drive in Disk Management. When I completed the cloning- using the Copy My HD in NG 14, I received a success message, I shut down, then removed the source hd, then used the source drive power and sata cables (the cloned disk is now connected to the same connectors as was the original source drive). I then restarted and went into Setup and deactivated the SATA 3 position where the cloned drive had been during cloning. The boot process went along but just kept recycling into bios, to the beginning of the windows boot- the progress bar- then reverted to the beginning of the startup. And continues as an endless loop.

Troubleshooting

I replaced the source hd (Disk 0) and its original connections. The cloned disk (Disk 1) is connected as it was during the Copy My HD operation.

When I reboot,  the system asks which operating system do I wish to use, and lists Window Vista, and as a second option, Windows Vista. Could it be looking at two drives each with an OS? If I select the first Windows Vista, it boots normally and the  computer  functions completely normal. I haven't tried to use the second windows Vista boot option.

The Disk Management lists  HD 0 and 1 as follows:

Disk 0 OS(C:)  227.77 GB NTFS Healthy(System, Boot, Page file, Active, Crash Dump, Primary Partition)

NOTE: Disk 0 also has a small Recovery Partition of 10 GB- courtesy of Dell. I did not attempt to clone that partition. Disk management lists this partition as follows under Disk 0:

10.0 GB NTFS Recovery Healthy (Primary Partition)

Disk 1 OS         465.76 GB NTFS Healthy (Active, Primary Partition)

Any evidence above of what I might have done wrong?

Here is a list of the advanced settings I used when doing the clone operation:

The following items were checked:

check source for file errors

check destination for system errors

resize drive to fill unallocated space

Set drive active for booting

Left Disable Smart Sector unchecked

Left ignore bad sectors unchecked

Copy MBR

Destination Partition= Primary

Drive Letter LEFT UNSELECTED

Appreciate any help......
