I have recently started using Ghost 14 and noticed that it does not work consistently. When it works it works for 3 or 4 sessions consecutively of restoring partitions but other time it fails to restore any restore point at all. It could restore a backup image which was created by Drive Image 7 ancient time ago, on the other time, it failed to restore a restore point which was created by Ghost 14 immediately prior to.
Ghost 14 used was running either on Vista(32bit) SP1 Ultimate or XP(64bit) SP2 both of which were on the same machine. I used "One Time Backup" and "Recover Drive" from "Advanced" mode.
Error messages when Ghost 14 failed were "Cannot complete restore of the restore point", "Cannot copy data from the recovery point to the destination", etc. I checked the restore points and they were verified to be valid restore points. A restore point once failed to restore could successfully be restored at other time, or vice versa. The target partition were either the one from which the restore point was created or not.
I tried the rescue disc a couple of times but it could never restore any restore point. One thing I noted while using the rescue CD was that "Restore to anywhere" was indicated to be "Not licensed". I wonder if this is applicable only for the rescue disc.
I would appreciate it if the members of this forum share your experience in using Ghost 14 and provide possible solution for my problem as above.
