I have Windows 7 Premium 64bit OS and have installed Ghost 15.0 and Norton 360 on a new computer.
At the end of a manual image, I get a Ghost "RPC failed" error at end of a backup, then "Error 800706be...", then Ghost Service Connection is lost and then reconnects. The Image is created and can be restored, but there is no staus or history of the backup. The backup drive is an external Western Digtal USB drive fromated NTFS. I have used this drive on my old system running Windows XP SP3 and Ghost 14.0 with no problems at all.
Windows Event log show the following:

Ghost RPC Failed in Backup
The Norton Ghost service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: Restart the service.
I have searched the forum and found user harris_rogers had a similiar problem but with Vista 64bit and ghost 14.0. He also had VSS errors that I am not experiencing. I folowed the suggestions in that thread. I used the Norton renewal tool and then reinstalled Ghost 15.0 only. I did an in-place upgrade of the OS. I have now re-installed Norton 360 and removed Ghost 15.0 for the time being.
I do know the 0xC0000005 error is a program trying to run code in a protected data area of memory. I turned off the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for the VProSvc.exe application. So far nothing has fixed the problem.
I am at a loss for what to check next. I am slightly dissapointed because I have used ghost through years at a business I do work for on the side and at home and work. It has been solid. This is the first serious issue I have come accross. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions. I still have 45 days left for a refund. I would rather not go that route but will have to if the issue can not be resolved. Thanks again.
