Hi
I am new to this but thought I'd see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
I have a fairly new Dell Dimension 9200 system with an Intel Core 2 6600 2.4GHz CPU and 4GB RAM.
The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I am backup up to an external USB drive and it is taking ages despite not running any other applications.
I successfully completed the first file and folder backup 6 days ago but left it so I'm not sure how long it took.
I have set it to backup incrementally so would not expect this backup to take very long as not much has changed.
It has not been running for 3 hours and is still at 5%, although the file count has increased to 340/340, it was stuck at 22/22 for several hours until I temporarily disabled Norton AV 2010 and things started to improve but it seems to have stalled again. There is a considerable amount of hard disk access noise but not much backup progress.
I have not had any performance problems with this system until now and I'm not sure where to start looking.
