I just bought Ghost 15 for creating image for my Win7 system (DELL T5400 with SATA Drive), I created boot disk sucessfully but ghost while creating/writing image on a DVD generates following error
ABORT: 8027 : A GeneralException occured.
I am really confused I thought Ghost15 was going to be easy to use with Win7?
I think you still mis-understood what I am trying to achieve. In my company we use GHOST to create bootable and OS images (including some pre-installed softwares), I used first GHOST 15 to create couple of floppy disks as bootable then booted up my win7 into it, afterwords ran GHOST.exe to get to ghost UI and asked ghost to create GHO image for entire harddisk. The Ghost 15 is crashing before it could even reach 5% mark while creating GHO files (See Ghosterr.txt file attached to my original message).
Funny thing is GHOST 8.0 actually does create the GHO files but fails to restore them when attempted.
I hope above explanation would help you understand problem better so you could help in finding solution..if at all.
As much as this may sound funny to you but I think you are right, prior to installing GHOST 15 on my machine, I had Ghost Solution suite 2.5 installed, I just simply installed Ghost 15 on top of it. So yes you are right...
Another funny thing that happened , appearntly this afternoon I was able to restore the GHO files (Win7) sucesfully but the way it happened, I used GHOST.exe 8.0 to create the GHO files (of win7) and then I created BOOT disk using BOOT Wizard of Ghost 15, and using ghost 15 I was able to just RESTORE the GHO file on my DLL machine.
isnt this weird? what kind of issue I could get into if I kept restoring images using method i described above?
TIA
Sorry but I don't think your using Ghost 15.
Since version 9 Ghost does not make .gho files it makes .v2i files.
.gho files are make by the DOS versions of Ghost
Your error log says
Version: 11.5.1.2266 (Dec 24 2009, Build=2266) OS Version: DOS v7.10
