Ghost 15 and Vista/Windows 7 - Hidden volumes

It seems impossible to run an automatic daily backup for either a hidden volume on its own, or the primary (C:\) drive plus hidden volume/s.

I have tried the Chat line, but all they have done is to confirm this is correct.

I can do an independant backup of C:\ combined with the hidden volume as an independant, one-off backup of both drives.

I think (not tested) that I can do an independant backup for the hidden drive on its own.

I can set up an automatic daily (incremental)  backup of C:\ drive on its own.

But, I cannot find any way to do automatic daily backups for both the C:\ drive and the hidden drive.

Yes, I could, and have, set up an automatic backup of C:\, and I could take a manual backup of the hidden drive as and when I think of it.

However, the whole idea is to have an automatic backup working in the background, just like I used to have in Ghost 14 when working with XP. I do not want to have to remember to take manual copies. With the best will in the world I, probably in common with most people, will almost certainly forget manual copies as time passes.

So my question is, does anyone know precisely what Microsoft put in the hidden volume, and most imprtantly of all, is it ever altered / updated by them?

If I was absolutely certain it will never, ever be touched, then maybe I could rely my daily C:\ backup and the "Last" backup I have of the hidden drive, but it does not inspire me with confidence.

Imagine a situation where my last backup of C:\ was yesterday, and my last backup of the hidden drive was two weeks ago,  and Microsoft put through one or even worse two or three updates between these dates.

Now imagine these included alterations to the files in the hidden volume.

If my computer screwed up today and I restored both the C:\ drive ( from yesterdays copy) and the hidden drive ( from my last copy which may have been take  weeks ago), then when you consider those Microsoft updates, C:\ would be up to date, but the hidden drive would not. The result could be chaos.

I do not know wht Microsoft put in the hidden volume. What are the chances that Microsoft would alter it with their updates?

The person on the Chat line did not know, and took the easy route by saying I will have to take it up with Microsoft, but that is unfair as the whole purpose of Ghost is to create a full working backup. Norton should know the answer to this question.

I really do think Norton should have solved this problem before releasing Ghost 15.

If it is impossible to solve, then they should point it out when buying the program, and suggest a work-around.

Anyone found a solution?
