Ghost 15 seems to install on my new Windows 7 machine, but when it comes to the configuration step I get Error E1AD3212, You don t have sufficient privileges to perform this operation. The account I am using has administrator privileges. I also tried running Ghost "as administrator." Also installed Ghost both "as administrator" and just by clicking.
What I have tried:
1) I have run Fixinstall.bat from the Norton Ghost directory.
2) Used Security Configuration Tool to be sure permissions are on for all users.
3) Turned on full control for all users in the security tab of the properties dialog of the start menu shortcut. (although "special permissions" is only on for my primary user account).
4) followed the instruction in:
(Actually did that first). I ran that from FF and IE.
I STILL can't run configuration.
BTW, if the "reset registry permissions tool" from the above page really leaves a user hanging as to whether it actual does something. A new window appears with instruction about how to permit installation and that is the end of it. No buttons to push. No indication that some task was actually attempted or accomplished or that it should have been just by the popup appearing. That screen really should be made more clear.
Ghost has served me very well in WinXP for years. I need it to work now.
