Recently I was upgraded to Ghost 15 at no cost due to all the errors I was experiencing running Ghost 14 to my external USB Device. Now that I am running Ghost 15 I am experiencing a new problem with continuous 'CRC Check' errors each time I perform a backup to my external device.(doesn't happen when doing local backups though)!
Having spent all of last week trying to find a remedy for this problem and having run Chkdsk /r many times without errors I decided to experiment a little. Here's what I tried, it's quite amazing what results I got....
Firstly as the CRC Check error always occurs during the Validation Proccess I decided to run a few backups without the 'Verify' option and the backups seemed fine and completed as expected. However, when I used Ghost Browser to verify the backups validity the same CRC Check error occured!!!! How Bl**dy annoying is that?!
Next I tried copying these INVALID backups from my external device to a Local Drive in my machine (Drive: D). Again I launched the Ghost Browser and re-ran the verification tool. HOW WIERD...., my previously INVALID backups are now all VALID!!!!!
Can anyone throw any sort of light on this as to why they're now valid, it seems really odd to say the least.
