THE GOAL: My OEM hard drive is now too small and I have connected a new larger drive into the system
ATTEMPT 1: I formatted the drive and Windows would not see it unless I allocated it and assigned a drive letter -- BIG MISTAKE
Hours later I was deleted all of the files off of the new drive since after running COPY and choosing it to be bootable it, for security reasons it would not let me change the drive letter OR to reformat and start again. I then deleted everything off of it could and then was able to run Ghost copy again...
ATTEMPT 2: I ran the copy program and did not assign a letter to the drive but this time it did copy everything but it is NOT a bootable drive and windows does not recognize the drive since the drive is NOT assigned a drive letter and if I choose to assign a letter it will not let me assign it to C: since C: is already still installed as the OEM drive.
SO NOW:
I have installed the OEM drive which is the bootable drive
I have installed the NEW HD with data now on it BUT it's NOT assigned a drive letter and in Drive Management it does NOT show this drive as a bootable drive.
SO....now what.....I have wasted 4 hours of tech time with remote access with no solution and I have wasted over 8 hours of my own time trying to get this to work.
Next Steps Please.....
Thanks
