Hi
I had Ghost 15 backing up without "Verify recovery point after creation"
Imagine my utter delight when I found that I could not restore from this backup due to error "ED800012 - The internal structure of the image file (CRC check) is invalid"
Luckily I had a "belt and braces" approach and had also been backing up using NTBackuo.exe - but thsi backuo also failed due to a corrupt .bkf file and I had to pay $99 USD for a copy of "Recover data fro MS Backup".
After about 1 week I have managed to restore my PC to a working state - despite Symantec#s best efforts to thwart me.
Now, using the Ghost 15 Recovery CD, I have run chkdsk on all my source disks to:
Automatically fix file system errors
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
However when I attempt to back up using Ghost 15 as follows
Drives C, D, E, F, G, H (210 GB) to Q:\Ghost Backups\FujitsuPC (an external USB 2 drive - I have tried 2 different external drives, now)
- and I check on
No compression
Verify recovery point after creation
Divide into smaller files
Ignore bad sectors
Do a full VSS backup
Performance ramped down to Slow.
Creating Recovery Point
Copying volume data
Validating Recovery Point Data
After about 6% or 7% ("Creating Recovery Point HD2_2 (G:\) to Q:\Ghost Backups\...\fujitsupc_G_Drive002.v21") I stiil get the errors as follow:
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of HD1_1 (C:\), HD1_2 (D:\), HD1_3 (E:\), HD2_1 (F:\), HD2_2 (G:\), HD2_3 (H:\).
Error ED800012: The internal structure of the recovery point file (CRC Validation) is invalid, damaged or unsupported.
Error ED800012: The internal structure of the recovery point file (%1) is invalid, damaged or unsupported.
So what is the fix, please?
