Ghost 15 - File Backup Fails

A problem started about 15 days ago.  This is what I am seeing:

 

  • During the folder back up, there is a message that pops up to indicate the agent is not running, it then disappears - and so far I have not captured an image of it, it is quite difficult.  This happened over the last four days
  • If I check the status of the backup, nothing is recorded on the backup status screen ....
  • Checking the logs, there are no entries for starting the backup, ceasing the back up or any errors that occured during the back up, although htis option is configured
  •  Looking at the performance screen when the backup is running it shows as calculating remaining time very slowly

The problem started on 2nd February and a day or two before this problem started, I changed the scheduled days for the back up which I thing may be something to do with it.

 

This looks like a whole lot of of coding flaws to me ... like not recording the start or end of the back up, or any errors or failures during the operation. It is a shame Norton has withdrawn its online supprt for the product.    So I am going to run this back up again so that:

 

1. I can capture the image of the warning

2. To confirm no start, end or messages are logged

 

And I will report back my findings.  I am contemplating my next steps anyone got any suggestions?  I think I will:

 

  • Delete the back up job and recreate it, if that does not work then I will
  • Delete the back up files (and I don't really want to be doing that..) but it might kick start it the job bnack into action.

Has anyone else seen a similar problem?
