I am trying to backup a fairly modest 20GB of data. I am wondering why Ghost estimates "39 hours remaining" for what would be a couple of hours copy job at most?
I realize that after the first time only updated files are copied meaning things will be quicker. (Is that the reason this first copy takes so long? It is calculating checksums or something??)
What is it about the file and folder backup that makes it so slow? Is it the complexity of the folder structure being backed up? (Mine is a complex folder with many levels.)
I 'd like to understand what the problem is. These days with huge drives 20GB is, relatively speaking, a "trivial" amount of data.
I know that the drive image will effect the same backup but I am a belt-and-braces type of guy and like the idea of the extra redundancy by also keeping a file and folders backup.
