I made an "original" and one incremental backup to an external hard drive. When I tried the second incremental backup, it was too big for the disk so I bought a new one. I did not realize I had to move the files using Ghost so I moved them using Windows Explorer.
When I tried to access them from within Ghost, I could not. I can see them in the list of backups along with two more I made on the new disk but the ones from the old disk are "Unavailable."
In the Community, I found AllenM's solution dated 3-31-2010 08:14 AM and tried that - stop the Ghost service, rename catalog.dat, restart the Ghost service, select Recover My Files from the Tasks menu, etc.
It looked for a while like it was working, then I got the error message:
-Info 6C8F1C25: Cannot import items.
--The file import failed.
---No files matched the backup criteria.
I can see both the old and new files in the list of backups within Ghost and also from Windows Explorer. Is there no way to recover the two old files since I didn't move them using Ghost?
