I have a very important system that needs to be backed up regularly. System is XP Pro SP3, with Ghost 15. Currently this system is backed up on a daily schedule at 2am to a USB connected Hard Drive. The backup is a full image, not incrimental because the backup drive is changed once a week. There are 3 backup drives, one connected to the system, one is in the safe and one is off site, these are rotated weekly. The problem is the drives keep filling up. Ghost is told to keep 3 copies of the backup on the drive, the trouble comes in when you change drives. Ghost correctly so doesn't want to delete files it isn't suppose to so if uses a numbering sequence, it says we are on backup image 10, so keep 3 copies, so delete image 6, but obvously if image 6 is on another drive it can't do that, and 6 is never deleted, etc...
My question is there anyway to automate the removal of old images so the drives are not needing manual attention, one way would be to create batch file to perform a quick format of the drive when the drives are rotated. Any other Ideas?
