I didn't see this issue anyplace and I'm beside myself trying to solve it. I've used Norton Ghost for many years and many operating systems and until now I've not had a problem I couldn't solve.
I'm using a Toshiba Netbook with Windows 7 Premium (I upgraded from starter) with 2G memory and I can not get Ghost 15 to install. It goes so far and gives me a runtime error (no number) for two files - the tray and security. It states that the error has caused the program to stop in an unusual way.
I've made sure I'm completely up to date from Microsoft. I uninstalled all runtime software on the system. I ran Uniblue Registry Cleaner (used it for years with no problems), rebooted a whole bunch of times, tried to install Ghost before Runtime and tried Runtime first and then Ghost (uninstalling and cleaning the machine each time). Nothing worked. I'm running Windows Essentials.
I have used Ghost on my old laptop (Acer) with no problems.
Machine Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium - build 7600
Toshiba NB255-N245
1.67 GZ Intel Atom N455
48 K primary memory cache
32 bit
150 G HD
20G free
2038 Meg Usable Installed Memory
There are no games on the machine and very little else since I just use it for surfing and Gmail.
If there is no fix, does anyone know of a good backup program that lets you go in and recover just the file or folder of choice like Ghost does?
Thanksfor any and all help,
Marcy...
