Why is it that when I recovery the backup of my old hard drive (Windows 7) to a new drive of the same make, model and size when I boot to the new drive I get a boot menu with 2 entries.
1) Windows 7 Professional (Recovered) - choosing this option does not work.
2) Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008/Windows 7 - choosing this option loads Windows 7.
Easy BCD shows no drive entry for the first option in the boot menu. It does show C:\ for the second entry which is why I can at least boot to Windows.
Question: What is it that I'm doing wrong to cause the boot menu to be displayed with 2 entries (This is not a Dual Boot system). My restore proceedure is as follows:
1) Boot from the SRD and initialized the drive.
2) Restore the System Reserved partition (Options; Active, Restore drive signature, Restore MBR)
3) Restore the Windows 7 partition (Options; None)
4) Restore the Data partition. (Options; None)
5) Remove the SRD and reboot.
