Ghost 15 uninstall

Hi, got a problem trying to uninstall Ghost 15. Have uninstalled NU 14.5 with Windows 7 uninstall program but when I try to uninstall Ghost with with NRT it says I have not uninstalled NU 14. Any tips or solutions? Using new Dell with Windows 7 Home 64x installed. Thanks for any help. Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried the conventional uninstall of Ghost 15 and if so what happens?

Is there a particular problem for which you want to uninstall Ghost 15?

I've also asked the forum moderator to move this post to Other Products for better visibility. Please don't be concerned, a link will be provided to the new location.

Thanks much

Allen

Hi Allen, Thanks for the quick reply. Queues I'll have to learn the roadmap here a little better for best results (move query to "other products" for better exposure). Maybe a little history might clarify my problem. Bought new Dell Windows 7 Home Premium 64x in Jan. Also purchased NIS 2010, NU 14.5 and Ghost 15 at same time from local electronics store. Installed first two products right away and computer worked great. Later, around March I installed Ghost and sometime after that, not sure when, my computer started to take 2 min 45 sec to shut down rather then the usual 10 - 15 sec, more annoying then anything else. After a while I started getting real tired of this delay and so started working backwards undoing any changes I may have made to computer to cause this shutdown delay -and then the fun began.

Uninstalled Ghost with Windows 7 uninstall program in Control Panel, restarted computer twice but delay was still there. Tried to reinstall Ghost and got error message about ...VSSProvider in MSIInstall... Goggled problem and learned should have used NRT to uninstall Ghost, so I downloaded and ran NRT which then told me I needed to uninstall NU 14 first with the Windows uninstall program. So I did this, but everytime I run NRT it keeps coming back telling me I need to uninstall NU 14. Using "search" I tried looking around for any leftover or hidden NU 14 files but couldn't find any. So to make a long story short I still have a 2 min 45 sec shutdown delay AND an installed Ghost program that won't work (Snapshot error%1 error ebabo3f1:os error 2147754774). I know its got to be a simple fix, but I sure can't find it. Thanks again . Dave

Davea1954,

If you are coming across "Snapshot error1%" error then i would like to inform you that there is a long discussion going around in the below thread and symantec is aware of it.
