I am running an HP dv6 Pavilion laptop PC with Windows 7 64 bit. I have installed Ghost 15.0 and upgraded to 15.0.1.36526; it looks like I got a good install.
The laptop has three partitions on the hard drive: Local Disk (C:), RECOVERY (D:), and HP_TOOLS (E:). When I run a manual backup, Ghost presents a list of these drives but I can only select the C drive. Ghost then tells me that I must backup a hidden file, System, so I add it to the task. The backup runs to completion and I get the following files in my backup folder:
Jims-HP2.sv2i Symantec Recovery Environment file
Jims-HP2_C_Drive.v2i Symantec Image File
Jims-HP2_System0-1_Drive.v2i Symantec Image File
Though the backup appears to have been successful, two items concern me:
- The home page display tells me that I am at risk because the D drive has no recovery point. Note that I cannot specify this drive when I start the one time backup.
- To test the backup, I have attempted to look for a file but it is never found because the search facility only looks at Jims-HP2_System0-1_Drive.v2i. How can I direct the search to look at the C drive backup?
