I just recently got Norton Ghost 15. I am running a Windows 7 box, and want to create a backup hard drive, but don't know which option to use. They both sound correct, but I assume there are fundimental differences.
What I am specifically interested in doing is creating a complete duplication (not selective files) of this drive, so that In the future I can rewrite the original harddrive with this older version. I am not only looking to restore previous documents and folders, but the entire windows install. Essentially I want to be able to take this backup to a blank harddrive, and ghost it so that The blank has a copy of my current computer. But instead of it being a random blank harddrive, I want it to be the original harddrive, which I will eventually reformat in the future to restore to an earlier point in its entirety.
This is mainly due to the fact that computers tend to "decay" overtime and you need to reformat and reinstall. I would like to avoid the reinstall process / driver installs, and just recopy an original hard drive point to use.
I have heard that using the Copy Harddrive method in Windows 7 can cause the original drive to stop working, which I am very worried about. Thanks for your time. Any help is appreciated
