I purchased a copy of Norton Ghost 15 and Windows 7 for my HP HDX16t.
The laptop is about a year old and came with factory installed Vista. It uses Insyde H20 for the BIOS.
I clean installed Windows 7 and then installed Norton Ghost.
Within Windows, I used Disk Manager to partition the Hard Drive as:
C:\ (operating system - 150Gb)
Z:\ (blank volume - 140Gb)
I then backed up whole operating system onto Z:. Then I chose to restore computer within norton ghost. I inserted the Symantec Recovery Disk and rebooted the computer. Computer booted in restore environment and asked what drive I wanted to restore. I selected C:\ and the restoration process began. It got all the way through to rebooting my computer, at which point the computer should now have been restored.
Unfortunately, the computer freezes on start up, at the very initial start screen of BIOS and doesn’t get any further. Can’t even get to boot menu options, pc just freezes.
Can anyone advise on this. Thanks.
