Ghost 15 / Windows 7 Professional > Backing up to a Network Drive...

Hello,

I have a strange issue I've been fighting for the last six hours trying to find a resolution to, but haven't.  I have two new Windows 7 computers both running Professional (one a Sony VAIO notebook, the other an HP Pavilion Elite).

I installed a second drive in the Pavilion to use for backing up files from both the VAIO and the Pavilion.  I purchased Norton Ghost for the backups, because I was informed you can't backup to a network drive using the Windows Backup unless you are using the Ultimate version.  So I shelled out more money for Ghost.

I got the software installed, and started runing the VAIO backup to the Pavilion sucessfully.  It ran for about a half hour, backing up about 20 GB of data, and I got a hick-up in my network that forced the backup to halt (apparently a bad cable end).

Problem now is that I can't get the backup to complete, or even start a new one-- keep getting a message that Ghost can't find the network drive.  I go into the setup to point to the drive, and it keeps asking me for a password.  Didn't need it before, but now it seems it won't connect to the drive without it.

Based on the first half hour of backing up 20+ GB of data, I KNOW Ghost doesn't NEED a password, but I've not been able to get any further.

I've tried the Norton Security Configuration tool but that keeps giving me the same answer.  The error codes are "E7D10041: unable to establish network connection" & "EBAB03F1 - Log in failure: unknown user name or bad password".

I have no problems connecting > copying > moving files around so I know there's no problem with the network or the two computer setups, Just this password thing.   (I didn't mention besides these two computers, I have 5 other older computers on the same network (I'm setting the new ones up for a client).

I know if the problem can be resolved by just using a password, but the client was insistent on not using them, so I'd like to try to find a way to fix the problem before I have to convice the client they need to use passwords (and then have it not working anyway).

The only thing I haven't done is uninstall Ghost and reinstall it.  I didn't see where it would help, but if there are no other good suggestions, I'll give that a try.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
