Ghost 15 with XP - Myriad of Problems

So far what I can say is I wish I'd used the 30 day evaluation longer.  When I got a successful image I was happy, and bought the license.  But now I'm having problems.

I haven't successfully imaged an HDD that boots without at least a lengthy chkdsk running to fix thousands of corrupted indexes and "file 9" errors.

The "Copy Drive" feature hangs when you try to boot with the target drive as the only drive installed.

I too am having the error when using the recovery CD asking to insert the recovery CD when it reaches 100%, and it just repeats over and over when you click Ok.  The only thing you can do is cancel.  It appears to have left an image, but can I trust an image that ended with an error message?

It seems to me a product that states it copies operating systems and bootable drives, should do just that without requiring hours of frustrating troubleshooting.  I had an old copy of Ghost that ran on a boot disk for Windows 98 that made perfect XP images without all this.

I am very uneasy about relying on this software for any important backups.  Windows Backup  is just fine for data backups.  Heck, I even once used XCopy over a base Windows installation and it made a working copy of the source drive.  I just don't get why this can't be less troublesome to use.
