Always with a short back-up (ten minutes) everything goes alright. Suceeded. When I make a large back-up (50 minutes) after 94% back-up fails (red cross). For the first time now the screen says W32/Win64 API DeviceloControl C10CTL_VSNAP_SET_SNAP_VOLUMES) failed.
What is going wrong? What do I have to do so I can make back-ups?
Can you please post the complete error message? Verify if the error you get is something which is mentioned in this Knowledge base article
Also check if the source drive disk space is full or running out of disk space. Ensure that the source drive which is getting backed has more than 20 % free space.
How much free space do you have in the source drive? (I guess it should be C drive). There must be about 20 % free space available in the drive which you backup.
You backup E drive (Windows XP) to the external H drive (300 GB). E drive has 10.4 GB free space out of total drive size of 57.5 GB.
If above is correct then the free space available in E drive is ~ 18 % , which is less that than the required value of 20 % . So you may have to create some more free space in The E drive, do this by deleting unnecessary data or any program which you do not use any more.
Deleting back-up files on H: doesn't create more space on E: I'm working on it but I'm now writing/forum on my W7-pc and try to make more back-ups with my WXP-pc. It takes time.
I give up. Ghost can't do the job. I worked two days til the night 03:00 a.m. and no solution. Now it is error EBABO3E9 of EBABO3F1. Why does a program works for more than a hour 70-80 minutes and comes at last with errors. Why does'n't it check first, can the program make a back-up?
Thanks everbody for helping, but as in the past, we can do nothing to solve the problems in Norton/Symantec programs.
