How would you, if possible, backup from Ghost v14 to online storage available in Norton 360 v2? If possible, what are the FTP settings? Or do we just have Norton 360 copy the backup folders from the hard drive? I prefer backing up to DVDs (single or dual layer), but this doesn't seem to be an option.
This sure is an option in 360
I meant there is no option in Ghost. I know there is the option in 360.
Unfortunately, Norton ghost 14.0 is not able to save images to the Online Backup space of Norton 360 v2. This space is only available to the Norton 360 v2 Online Backup. Thanks!

I can see why backing up tp a separate hard drive would be the best solution. It is faster and backing up to DVDs requires too many of them. I'm going to get an external hard drive soon.
Thanks for the information. I didn't know you could do a One Time Backup to CD/DVDs.

Yes you can. You should try it

No problem! In order to make sure that all the scheduled backups to a CD/DVD take place, you would need to remember to put a new disk into the drive before the scheduled backup. If you forget, or have a disk in the drive that holds critical information, that information might be overwritten by the scheduled backup. This is counterproductive to the idea of data security. We still allow for users to backup to CD/DVD format. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks!

I apologize; this is not correct information for the Norton 360 CD/DVD (optical media) backup.
We do not allow you to schedule optical backups for Automatic because automatic only runs at idle. However, you can set up optical backups to run on a schedule (such as 2pm every day, or 2am on the last day of each month.)
When a scheduled backup runs and it detects that the backup will be going to an optical drive we launch the scan UI. If the user has blank media in the drive and has previously said to ignore the dialog that states the estimate of required media then the backup will run to the end, pop out the disc and ask the user to label it. If the media is rewritable and has data on it then the UI would prompt the user for whether or not to erase the media and would wait for the user to return an answer.
If the backup spans multiple discs, then it will prompt the user for a new volume and wait for the user to return and acknowledge that.
So technically you could set up backup to go a DVD drive every night and pop in a fresh DVD before you leave the office each night. When you come back in the morning you will have a finished backup and a dialog telling you to label the disc “n360 backup 2/3/2009".
While this is a viable alternative when all else fails, it is not the best backup solution, especially for novice users.
Hopefully, the next version of N360 will integrate Ghost14/16 within the program. Then you’ll have all kinds of options. Better yet, include Norton Save and Restore within N360…

That certainly would give N360 a full-featured backup capability and a significant improvement. But what happened to Ghost 15? ;-)
