Ghost - Error EC8F17B7

I keep getting the following error message.  Is there a fix for this ...

Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of HP (C:\). Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Can::GetSafeFrameFileOffset: .\Can.cpp(304): offset != INVALID_FRAME_INDEX.

Yes.  I have run a backup many times.  Then, periodically I would get this error message.  Often, just restarting the computer or reinstalling Ghost would fix the problem.  Right now, nothing seems to work.

By the way, I am running Ghost 14 on a Windows Vista machine.

Thanks,

Rick

Do you have any AV products installed? Looks like the mother of Ghost (enterprise) also runs into a similar problem with the coinstalled AV products.

I'm not sure what qualifies as an AV program.  I do have Windows Media Player and listen to iTunes and Radioio using their desktop applications; but none of these are in use during the backup period.

The chkdsk /r on the drives did not seem to solve the problem.

I am going to try completely uninstalling then reinstalling Ghost.  Also, I am wondering if an upgrade to Ghost 15 might help.

I Unistalled Ghost 14 and then when trying to reinstall, I got this error message.  So, now I don't have Ghost on my machine at all.

Error 1935: An error occurred during the intallation of assembly component {63E949F6-03BC-5C40-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}.

HRESULT: 0X800736FD.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to what to do.
