Ghost explorer "not a valid win32 application" on W7?

Hi all,

I wanted to open a GHO archive I created in 2008. I no longer have Ghost installed and my laptop is now running Windows 7.

I found a link on one of the other forum threads here to Ghost Explorer, which I downloaded and tried to run. However I get an error message which says that the exe file "is not a valid win32 application"?

Is there a newer version of Ghost explorer I need to download from somewhere? The version I downloaded said it worked on W7. :smileysurprised:

Thanks

Martin

Thats strange, I got the same error the first time I tried to download it.

Try it again, if you still have problems right click the link and select "save taget as".

Hi Dave,

Thanks, but the error still occurs. I've tried various methods of downloading it and also from the support pages on Norton's website. All paths lead to the same error.

The file size is consistently 704kb, is this correct?

Thanks

Martin

No, it's 744 KB (761,856 bytes)

CRC= 8ADE9D17

MD5= EBAFE7C0E759AF0F3474E6E5C027A82D

The first time I downloaded it, it came up short.

I tried 3 or 4 more times and it's been working for me since.

Hi,

I've tried downloading to two different locations, using the direct click and also "save target as" and every time it's 704kb.

Is there any way to attach it to a post or a PM?

Thanks,

Martin

This is really a zip file, right click and "save taget as"

Then remove the .txt extention.  I had to add that because exe's and zip's are not supported.

Dave

That attachment works for me as well.  Just don't click it directly, right click and "save taget as".

Sorry martin, it's 4am for me. I just woke up to have some cookies :)

Both the FTP link and my attachment are working fine for me.  If your still having trouble try turning off your firewall and AV.

One of those might me cutting it short, or maybe your having an ISP problem.

Best of luck

Dave

Thanks Dave, the file you attached has worked. I guess the file on the server is corrupted?

Right-clicking and saving-as the FTP link Dave posted worked for me the first time. Must be something on your PC or internet connection.
