I've noticed that nearly everything in Norton land (at least circa 2005) likes to have a plethora of services hanging around as well as icons for each component. Norton ghost (from NSW 2005) seems to be no exception to this.
Will these things impact my system performance in any way? And what on earth requires a backup utility to remain continually running? I know why things migrate to services: often they allow multiple logins to share the code more easily, and they enable the starting up at system boot which leaves things in a predictable place at user login. But Norton prior to 2009 has a HUGE yellow triangle around its neck for being chokeware, and I don't know if all the bodies were buried in NAV.
Can Ghost 2005 be installed WITHOUT all that baggage?
