HI, Just a quick question .....My old XP Home system died when the magic blue smoke escaped from the hard drive!
New drive installed into machine.
Recovery disc inserted.
Booted ..............................................................
It appears I have a .gho image on the CD but no way of reading it!
Do I have to buy Ghost to recover my PC or, ...... Do I have to curse fluently in Anglo Saxon casting aspersions regarding the sex and ancestry of the poor little salesman at my local little shop of horrors (PC World) until he coughs up an acceptable solution to my woes.
Under normal circumstances I would consign the thing to the bin, but I have a CAD application which cannot run on my Linux box (Wine and Win4Lin will not help either).
Yours in hopeful anticipation.
Tim
No aspersion casting should necessary. The .gho file type indicates that you had made images with Norton Ghost 2003. However, you also mention a Recovery Disk, which indicates Norton ghost 9, 10, 12, 14 or Norton Save & Restore 1 or 2. Additionally, the recovery disk contains a .gho file? Could this be a Lights Out Restore from Norton Ghost 14, and it is a .v2i file? I apologize; just trying to understand the situation better. If you could add any exact steps, that would be appreciated. Thanks!
