Ghost Woes - Anyone Out These Listening?? Can developers think out of the box?

I just got done testing Ghost and gave up on it. It seems that people in software development just either copy someone else’s ideas or use the same old ideas that have been around since the early 80’s. What people want now is to bring their computers home or to work, and have them automatically detect that they’re connected on their local network, that the storage media is available (whether FTP, NAS, USB, etc.), and automatically backup and/or sync. People don’t want their private information out in some “cloud” just because it sounds cool. They don’t want to screw around with attaching and detaching devices all the time to all their computers, so backup to another PC/your NAS at home is essential. Furthermore laptops are portable. How can you schedule a backup when you can’t guarantee you’re going to have your backup media connected, at your PC at a particular time to click Yes to the annoying “Allow backup now” icon. Get with the times developers!! Also, how come there’s no way to execute a pre/post command on file backup, just snapshot backup? How come there’s no way to execute a command only upon success? At least if there was, I could script an automated backup based on network detection. Furthermore, why does Ghost display errors and have so many problems if the storage media is disconnected? Hello?? People are using laptops these days!!
