GHS files trouble, need support!

Hi, Iám in trouble. I confurted some vhs video tapes for my famely in to AVI files, this all done on my own PC.

So far everithing went well. After this I selected all these together and copied all to an external harddrive they gave me.

Strangly all these AVI files where confurted into GHS files on there harddrive. I don't have Norton Ghost on my PC, no Symantec programms atall. How can this happen??

I know the most important question how can my famely still see there video's, with all there sweeth memmories.

Hope someone can help me, this because my brother in law is very ill.

Thanks, Thanks for your support, Yours............Appie Kuipers, The Ntherlands.

Actually, GHS is the extention for a spanned image file.  GHO is the extention for a Ghost image file or the first part of a spanned set.

If you don't also have a GHO file, then it is not a Ghost image file.

Still have no idea what do, and solve this problem.

Try this with one of the files. Rename .GHS to .AVI.

Does the file play?

Sorry no, does not work.
