goggle software reporter tool

Friends, Earlier today i saw a notification about Google Software Reporter tool being added and Norton saying it was safe...so i looked at the 'check details' page.. it said the file was safe, though it was only a week old and had had only a few users... looked at it in google, and there were posts going back to march of 2015- now nearly a year ago- and they said they had seen the very same notice! for the first time i found something from norton that didn't 'fly'.... obviously norton has not kept up with their file 'insight', and of course this makes me wonder how many other notifications i've gotten that have information that is incorrect.  i've seen that the 'reporter tool' is some kind of google 'tracking' program, which i feel i don't need or want... what bothers me though is that norton- who i expect to be up to date with anything security wise on my pcs- still has the same file insight message that they had a year ago!  kind of makes me question things and makes me feel less secure using the products from norton that i have had for over a dozen years....posting this here as i don't see that the chat or phone help could do much in this case... any thoughts on this one?  any way to get a direct note to norton about this?  thanks  (have 'snips' on this but they are .jpeg and it says only allowable attachments can be .txt or .pdf)
