Google Chrome Support

As a current user of Google Chrome (and NIS 2010), I'd like to see support of the Google Chrome browser.

Just came on to suggest Google Chrome and Opera support but you beat me to it.

Thanks for the feedback. As you can imagine, we are actively looking at the timeline for this. Question: What do you miss the most when you use Chrome that you get when you are using Firefox or IE? Search markup? Blocking/warning of dangerous sites? IDSafe? Something else?

Thanks, Dan

Download Insight

Norton IPS

Norton Toolbar

These are also missing in Opera which I like to use occasionally.

Norton IPS

Norton Toolbar

I really love the two functions!

Thanks for the fast turnaround on looking at this!  For me, I think its the IPS, Download Insight, but top on my list is the blocking / warning of dangerous websites.  While there are alternatives for that, I prefer using Norton's.

Hi,

I use Opera heavily, the main thing i miss is the system that checks websites within google, with a Tick, Cross or warning symbol, always find it useful when having to use IE.

Seeing now especially in Europe the browser ballot is out I don't think Symantec can ignore the top browsers as IE is going to lose more market share. Chrome, FF, Safari and Opera deserve to all have the same features as IE.

Moving to its own idea for better exposure.

Would also like to see NIS supporting Chrome with IPS, IDSafe (Toolbar). :-)

I would really like to see Identity Password Safe implemented in Chrome.  I came to depend on it in IE and Firefox, but I can't seem to go back to either of those browsers after using Chrome, because of the rendering speeds.  Also, the fact that Chrome uses buttons beside the address/search bar rather than large toolbars is a godsend to ultralight notebook users like me, because almost no screen space is wasted.

So, please give me the password safe, activated by a small button in Chrome!

Google Chrome doesn't support toolbars, so it wont be possible.

While Chrome does not support "toolbars", so to speak, it does support all of their functionality in extensions. Personally, I would love to see Norton develop a Chrome extension like Safe Web so I could quit using WOT. It's nice and effective, but I am a loyalist for Symantec products. They have yet to fail me in over a decade ;)

I cannot imagine creating a Norton Safe Web extension would slow Chrome down any. Otherwise the Web of Trust extension would do the same.

Agree with others - support for Opera and Chrome with their respective engines.

The requests to support Chrome, and other browsers that are growing in popularity, are gathering pace.

Yes please make Chrome and AOL browsers covered by Norton, that would be great!!!!!!

Chrome supports extensions and would support this type of plugin...

.+1 for chrome - ips ,identity safe and download intelligence.  It Is an excellent browser that is gaining market share.

let me add my request that Norton develop an extension or other solution to provide Identity Safe for Chrome.   Seems Chrome is gaining users very quickly....for good reasons mentioned above.

I would also like to voice my desire for support in Google Chrome!

The most important feature I would like implemented is IDsafe (password safe)

Other than that, I would also like the safeweb, safe search, and download insight support

Another vote for IDSafe on Chrome.

Anybody who's read this topic to the second page knows that Chrome does not support toolbars.  I love this about Chrome.  The lean design is a huge draw for me.

So what?  Is the toolbar the only way to implement the IDSafe functionality?

Couldn't an extension do the job?

I'd really like to see Symantec's reasoning about IDSafe and Chrome apart from "Chrome doesn't support toolbars".  It could be that extensions do not offer full functionality, or that developping one would be too complicated (or not feasible with the current resources/demand).  One thing is sure, many people are switching over to Chrome.  We're not yet as numerous as Firefox or IE, but Chrome is gaining momentum.

I use chrome as my main browser and I also have an extension called "WOT" which gives me a site rating based on user input. While this is an ok extension, it can be manipulated as all the ratings are generated from visitors to that  specific site.

I would love to see a norton safe search add on provided as I feel it would be far more reliable and trustworthy. I have used safe search on firefox and while I liked it I didnt like the fact that the icons were so big and it added an extra bar on my browser beneath bookmarks.

Could you make it a little symbol in the address bar like "wot"

Please make this extension happen :)
