A great many of the ID safe issues with 2012 are already resolved.
At present, amongst 50 or so logins I have only one minor issue with ID safe. Otherwise it is working great.
Even though I do not like to store anything in the "cloud" as a rule I actually do use the online ID safe profile just because it is very important to me to be able to easily sync ID safe among my desktop and laptop computers.
We are supporting Google Chrome from 2012 versions. N360 6.0 which is due for release shortly and will be compatible with Chrome and you can use Identity safe from chrome browser too. Keeping wathcing this forum for more updates on N360 6.0.
I dont know what norton is up to but it is really making a good move toward browsers and offering a high end protection using variety of techniques. No other antivirus makers made this kind of step before. The Firefox 10 and now Google Chrome.
Hi all, I’ve just installed Google Chrome and Norton Safety Minder doesn’t appear to be operating - none of the websites are blocked and I don’t receive emails when my child is surfing the web even though it’s enabled. Do I need to manually connect the two together? If so, what do I need to do? Thanks, GH
We have IE which used to support Norton Safety Minder but also no longer does - even though the plug-in is apparently enabled. The previous versions of Firefox used to - but then it automatically updated to v.14 and I understand NSM isn't supported on it yet.
Windows 7 is running on the computer.
I'm baffled as to why NSM isn't incorporated into any of the browsers anymore? None of the settings have been changed and it's fully operational. Norton 360 is working fine.
can you please tell us the exact version of your Norton product? 1. Open the main window 2. Click on Help & Support -> About menu 3. On the About window find the version number (it will look like this: 20.2.0.19)
Also include please which version of Chrome do you have on your system.
Google Chrome - I have updated the latest version (not sure if that helps). If you can let me know how I check what version I have on my system, I will follow your instructions.

Hi Help101,
Chances are you are updated to the latest version, 22.0.1229.94. To be sure and for future reference, click the Spanner icon at the far upper right of the browser. In the drop down menu that appears, near the bottom, click 'About Google Chrome'. A Chrome update page will open and display the current version number.
Excuse my poor english. I had the same problem with Chrome and NIS 2012 and now 2013. Two days ago, I click ont the X on the Norton Toll Bar and now Chrome is faster and works perfectly. So the problem is with Norton Tool Bar in Chrome.
Thank you for your reply but this has not solved the issue for me, simply because I cannot even see the Norton Tool Bar. I literally have a blank screen, with the word "Untitled" in the top left hand side tab.
The URL is there but nothing else.
Help on this is greatly received and it is driving me up the wall.
Hopefully Norton resolves this, as it was their prompted upgrade that caused this to happen. It was working fine beforehand, upgraded and no longer works!
Open to ideas, anyone out there that could help please?
I have a similar problem to Help101. After updating to NIS v. 20.2.0.19 yesterday, I was unable to use Google Chrome. All I could see was a blue screen with the URL of the page I wanted to go to shown at the top. After reading through some of the similar problems others have encountered using Google Chrome with NIS 2012 (using IE), I tried to get to the Chrome "Tools" "Extensions" page to turn off Identity Safe, but I could only see the blue page again.
Today, went to the Norton Support page, spoke online to customer support and they remotely removed NIS from my computer. This successfully fixed the Chrome problem, as it was back up and working. However, I no longer had NIS installed on the computer. Then customer support remotely re-installed NIS v. 20.2.0.19 back onto my computer, and Google Chrome was still working. However, after leaving my computer on for 2 hours, when I returned to the computer, the same problem of the blue screen and non-working Google Chrome had returned. I'll try again tomorrow to re-contact Customer Support to see if anything else can be tried.
Hi guys
This may happen if you’ve Rapport Intrusion prevention in the computer. Try to remove(Uninstall) rapport from the computer and then check the websites. Norton includes the Intrusion prevention, so you can remove Rapport as it can create conflict with Norton.
Thank you ramshrii! I deactivated Trusteer Rapport, restarted my computer, and Google Chrome has been working fine for the past 12 hours! But I do have a question. The previous version of NIS worked fine with Trusteer Rapport, so will future versions of NIS be developed to try and be compatible with Rapport? Rapport is a program highly recommend by my bank to use with my on-line banking, so it would give me an added degree of confidence if both NIS & Rapport worked together.
I'm sorry i can't comment on future things. But what I can say is, having two softwares in the computer doing the same job can slow things down also it may expose the computer to risks easily, also can it cause unpredictable problems like yours. Norton has the multi-layered protection in it, Intrusion prevention, Smart Firewall, Insight features, Safe web, Sonar, etc So, I would say stick to Norton and that'll take care of the security department..
