Search engine Google, safe web green check marks do not appear, using IE 9
however using Bing search engine in IE 9 safe web works great.
Firefox no issues at all.
Prior to 48 hours had no problem with Google.
Obviously I have done live updates rebooted, Confirming that safe search in Google is off, Norton toolbar enabled, also using NIS uninstalled and the fresh install, NO Green Check marks
The Norton products are not compatible with beta products. Once IE 9 comes out of beta, then the Norton products should be supporting it. Google is also always changing things so there is sometimes a lag in coverage even with IE 7 and IE8. Hope this answers your concerns. Thanks.
However using Bing search engine in IE 9 beta Safe Web works great. I guess its a Google thing,
Curious to know if any other users are using NIS 2011 Windows 7 Pro 64 and Internet Explorer 9 beta configuration are having the same issue. Or am I alone on this one.
The Norton site safety icon issue is caused by Google, not IE9. It is a known issue, but there are some things you can do to work around the problem when it occurs. These are mentioned in the following thread:
IE9 does not appear to present any difficulties with Norton at this time, but the browser is in Beta and is not supported, so that could change at any time.
The green check mark appears for, Yahoo search, Bing search, and Ask search, but still no green check mark for Google search. ( Firefox no issues all sites work)
Refreshed Google pages, instant search off, uninstalled NIS 2011 and re installed. Restore default settings in IE 9, Ran Malwarebytes/combo fix, nothing found.
Prior to 4 days ago, the green check marks where visible and worked fine using IE 9.
Does anyone know what "manage add on's" should be enabled/disabled for Google in IE 9
As has been pointed out already, it is probably Google which is causing the problem compounded by you using IE 9 beta which is probably undergoing changes also since it is beta. as has been pointed out in the other thread which you have posted the same problem in.
"The green ticks are an overlay that is provided by Norton on your browser, nothing to do with Google. Therefore you will need to contact Norton for support."
Spent time with Norton remote assistance, unable to activate the green check marks in Google. Their conclusion IE 9 Beta is not supported by Norton and therefore Safe Web is not stable, although Bing Ask and Yahoo search engines work fine in IE9 the technician said it would be a lot safer to do searches in Firefox, and avoid IE 9 till a patch to be released nearer the time of the final version of IE 9.
I would like to thank everbody who have helped and all done in a timely fashion Kudos too all
