Google Play "Pre-Scan"

The clear cache is lower down the settings page for your app. Just scroll down below where you see clear data.

I'll pass along the workaround for this issue.

Thanks for the help, it works.  Realize it's "temporary" but better than anything I've received from Norton.  Probably end up being permanent.

Mark:

Glad to see I'm not the only one who couldn't find the "clear Cache" option, I don't think it's there anymore.  I did eventually find it buried in another option but now I don't remember which one it was, didn't work anyhow.  Going to try turning off the power save and see what happens.  Next step - dumping Norton.

Thanks for the info, tried turning off "Power Saving", well it sorted out the problem, but this is a temporary solution. Thanks for this. How did you figure this one out? Well done, now Norton have a starting point...

Best regards

To all who have this problem of pre scan on Google play store the answer is so easy turn off power saving mode when looking to see if apps are safe or not on Google play this is happened since marshmallow came to light but also i found out the same problem on my galaxy s7. So remember turn off power saving mode when looking at apps

Thanks for the reply, found the app, but in Marshmallow, for some reason could see the "clear Cache" option.

As a test, try going to Android Settings  -  Apps, and look for Norton Mobile Security (NMS) app. Clear the app cache and app data, then restart your device.

You will have to log back into your Norton Account by tapping on the 3 bars at the top left of the NMS app and tap Sign In.

I have the same problem, noticed in past few days been getting the following  "Norton Mobile Security" "Network unavailable" when in google play. Usually Norton scans an app, but it's not doing it now.  Have Galaxy S6 Edge +, running Android 6.01 Marshmallow.

Could be a compatibility issue with Android 6.01, not sure but Norton needs to sort this out soon. Have uninstalled Norton mobile and re-installed, no change.

This thread was from March of 2015. That issue was resolved in about 5 days.

If you are seeing an issue with the Google App Advisor it would be a new issue.

Do your other apps access the internet OK?

I just tried looking at an app on the Play Store and the Norton App Advisor worked correctly for me. What is your version of Norton Mobile Security, and what device and Android version are you seeing this on?

I would start by going into Android Settings - Apps and clearing the app cache for Norton Mobile Security. Then restart your device and try again.

I see that the "pre-scan" of Google Play Store apps has been a problem for a while.  Mine was working just fine until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, now all I get is "Norton Mobile Security" "Network unavailable".  On the main menu of Mobile Security it indicates it's still working and everything is okay.  Suspect problem is more than likely with Google but I'd sure like to know.
