Government spying on Memorial day?

I'm a disabled veteran and today when I tried to get support through my Norton 360 main window, the Norton window popped up (as usual) telling me that it was scanning my installation "to provide me with a better experience", or some such crap. Being the slave to technology that I've become, I proceeded like a good boy scout. Norton reported back that it "fixed" 1 problem (oh goody), and when I copied and pasted the details into a text file to view the details I found an ISP (21.7.0.11) it reported as the "fix". So, I performed a trace route with VisualRoute and what did I find? The IP was for a Department of Defense (DoD) Network Information Center apparently in Columbus, OH. What the hell?! I suppose that Symantec is in bed with the DoD, which isn't surprising, but Norton releases this as a "fix". I'm as patriotic as anyone, but this seems a little underhanded if you ask me. I also find this rather comical because if this is as covert as their cyber security can get, then we've already lost THAT war. All I can say is lame and shame. - Article 86
