Green check mark now on every thumbnail on my computer, how rid?

Every thumbnail on my computer now has the Norton green checkmark on it.  It is huge and annoying and I  cannot remove them.  Besides completely un-installing Norton, how can I get rid of these?

just remove the check form Backup Status Overlays

It is in the settings menu.
