Thanks to all the folks in this community that replied to my request concerning the un-wanted browser AVG. Before I applied any of the suggested fixes, I thought I would give the Norton Help Desk a try. The people there are worth their weight in gold. A gentleman, Mehulkumar B., took remote control of my laptop, and had the problem fixed in less than five minutes. What a relief these guys are there. What a relief to have Norton installed. And no, I don't work for Norton.
