I get this message that pops up every time I boot up .... "Auto-protect is processing security risk WS.Malware.2". It stays there for a minute and then goes away. I look up history and it doesn't show that it did anything with a virus called WS.Malware.2.
I will try any anti-virus/spyware software as long as it will get rid of WS.Malware.2.
On my Windows XP computer and using "Norton Internet Security 2012", I have tried to do a "Full System Scan" in Safe Mode and "Norton Power Eraser". Neither one of these methods is able to get rid of this WS.Malware.2 alert that pops up from Auto-Protect just after I boot my computer to the desktop.
I cannot seem to make the "Norton Bootable Recovery Tool CD" work when I boot it all the way up to the point where you can do a "Full System Scan" ... supposedly of all 6 partitions on my 2 SATA hard drives. The "Norton Bootable Recovery Tool CD" does NOT "see" the two SATA hard drives (with 6 partitions). What could be causing this problem?
I created a custom "Norton Bootable Recovery Tool CD that has "added drivers" from C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder. I also used it to do "add drivers" for files on a floppy with special drivers for my Silicon Image Sil 3112 Sata/Raid Controller and two SATA hard drives. I have used this special floppy for another bootable floppy that you "Press F6" on boot up in order to add the files on that floppy. This enables the software to "see" the SATA drives.
Bottom line, I need a fix for this virus WS.Malware.2 and I would like to be able to fix my "Norton Bootable Recovery Tool CD" so that it can "see" my SATA drives (using the correct Sata/Raid Controller drivers or whatever).
