Hard copy of Identity Safe logins

Is is possible to print a copy of my identity safe log-ins?  If so, how do I do it?

Thanks!

You can now export the logins.

mzwolfie,

I don't use Identity Safe myself but from something in another thread on a slightly different topic I think that if you want to print out a hard copy you need to Export in CSV format and then import that into a database like Excel etc. The CSV format is a universally accepted file format for formatted data.

But I'm not sure about this but I think the normal the normal export format of Identity Safe data is still encoded for security.

I may be quite wrong ....... but it may save you a puzzlement ....

Hi Hugh,

It is actually a bit easier than that.  The data is exported as a CSV file, as you said, but it is a plain text file that can be opened in Notepad and printed.  So you do want to take precautions with the file and the printout, as anyone will be able to read them.

Thank you.  Yes, I am thinking "safe deposit box" to store the hard copy.  :smileyhappy:

Thanks for the link! Have a great evening.

Sorry I mixed up the versions having just read that in 2012 you can export the encrypted file for reimport and you have to choose CSV?

But opening a CSV file in Notepad elsewhere in my experience gives you a messed up hard to read display hence the suggetion to use a data base which would put it in formatted columns with headers even if the exported file labels them .......

Excel. Works, anything you have available......
