Harmonising Subscription

Hi, I independently purchased/renewed NIS on two separate home PC’s. The subscription on the laptop PC is about to expire whereas the desktop PC still has some time to go. I recently upgraded to NIS 2009 (3 PC limit) and want to include the laptop. However, I am unable to install NIS on the laptop without it remembering it has only a few days to go. I have tried the removal tool. What can I do to harmonise my subscription on both machines?

You can try clicking on subscription status under Help and Support.

Becuase I will silly enough to register NIS on the other home PC under my wife’s name and I don’t want/need to purchase another subscription. I’d like to run with a single NIS licence off both machines but it wont ‘forget’ my wife’s subscription. Will it be different once it’s expired?

Hi roadwest,

On the computer that is about to expire, open the main Norton window and click on "Subscribe Now" at the bottom right corner.

A new window will open showing your current days left and you will also have the option to "Renew" or "Enter a subscription renewal code or another product key".

Choose the later (another product key) then click next. You should then be able to enter your new key.

Realize that you have purchased a subscription, so the clock begins the countdown from the day you first activated the new key. Therefore this computer will show the same amount of subscription time left as the other computers which use the same key.

Hope that helps.

You may find your product/activation key in a text file in the following location:

Windows XP: My Documents\Symantec\Product Name_Key.txt
Windows Vista: Documents\Symantec\Product Name_Key.txt
OR Find your product/activation key using your Norton Account

 http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/custserv.nsf/0/f5d3d7fb08dfe7d780257281001902b7?OpenDocument

or you go

start-run -type

regedit -ok

follow this
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\KStore\.........nr.............]and you will see
"Key"="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

and after

go to the new pc what you want to install the norton and

go hier download it

http://spftrl.digitalriver.com/pub/symantec/2004/NIS09EN.exe

and enter the key when is asking.

let me know

That worked. Thanks you both for your help. :smileyhappy:
