Has anyone solved internet speed reduction (no vpn) due to Norton 360?

I have Xfinity gigabit + plan at 1.2Gbps. I have never been able to get over 700 Mbps on a wired LAN connection despite having a modem/router/network card capable of 2.5Gbps.  Recently, I upgraded the RAM and hard drive on my desktop and had a clean windows installation.  I was happily clocking 1.4Gbps on all speed tests.. until I installed my Norton™ 360 with LifeLock™ Select Plus, which I subscribe to. The speed instantly dropped to 600 Mbps. I uninstalled Norton, and I got back up to 1400Mbps.

I would like to use Norton which I pay for, but not at the cost of reduced internet performance.

I know this is a widespread issue based on my reading on this forum and Redditt.  Has anyone found the solution to prevent Norton from throttling the network speed?

If you Parental Controls installed you should remove them and see if the speed improves.

As the title of my post suggests.. No VPN. :)

Are you using the Norton 360 VPN when this is happening?

Thanks for your response. My computer is NOT the issue.  Note that when I uninstall Norton, I clock 1,4Gbps speed and when I install Norton it drops to 670 Mbps on the same computer

I think you need to get a better computer. If you are not connected to a vpn, its completely up to your own hardware. Router included. Did you reboot your router? That usually helps as well.
