Hi,
I used to use an older version of Ghost many years ago I used this to take images of my hard drives and when I had problems I would just re-image it was great.
I purchased Norton Ghost 14 and two new hard disks as my old hard drives kept coming up with (now and again) None system disk failure and the boot HDD was clicking. I built my new HDDs from scratch that took about two days (Vista ultimate) and then imaged my system to the second disk from a one time backup. I then made some small changes to prove that changes were made when I recovered the HDD. All worked great I was really surprised by the speed compared to the old Ghost. So I have proved the image works and I can recover.
As I have experienced a HDD failure I purchased another HDD and tried to recover to that and this is where my problem is.
I Boot from the Ghost DVD I purchased, I need to try about two or three times before it actually boots up because the other few times it just hangs all the time.
So I have the Norton Ghost loaded and try to recover to another HDD and I get something like Invalid recovery point.
How do you recover from a HDD failure?
