Back in June I bought a new laptop with an Intel CORE i7 vPro 8th Generation CPU.
I discovered that the version of Linux used with NBRT was not compatible with this CPU.
See: https://community.norton.com/en/forums/can-not-get-nbrt-boot-usb-made-iso-w-rufus
I am wondering if this problem has been resolved or if there is a target resolution date set?
Thanks,
Jim
Hi,
We have this update in our schedule. I will make sure we post when we have this update ready.
Jeff
ok ... I got some decent connectivity and downloaded the latest ISO.
Last time I tried this I was able to get the USB drive to START to boot, but then it would error out with the
unsupported CPU message.
I'm still using the same version of Rufus as last time set to:
parition: MBR
Target system BIOS or UEFI (that's the only choice for an MBR partition apparently)
Fat32 w/ Default cluster size 4096
I've tried to build it 4 times on two different thumb drives
From boot device manager when I select the thumb drive the screen blinks and then goes right back to the boot menu.
I'll try it again in a month or two when I "re-surface"
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the reply!
I have not tried it again as I'm traveling in Central America and the download speeds here are about 0.5Mb....
When I can get a "real" connection I'll give it another try and report back....
I would suggest that if you have tried downloading NBRT again and see the same issue, that it has not been fixed.
I'll escalate this thread to see if we can get an answer for you.
