Having a terrible time with Norton Ghost 14.0

The error message that you posted begs the questions: which operating system is installed, and what are the file systems of your partitions? Any RAID (software or hardware)? Ghost reports all warnings and errors to the Windows Event log. Could you look at the application event logs and check for any warnings/errors from Ghost, Ghost Service, V2i, Volume Shadow Copy Service, etc? Have you run LiveUpdate in Ghost until there are no more updates?

I am using Vista Home Premium.  File Systems are NTFS.  No RAID software or Hardware that I am aware of.  I've looked at the Windows even log and these are the most appropriate entries, but I have n idea what they mean.

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error querying for the IVssWriterCallback interface. hr = 0x80070005. This is often caused by incorrect security settings in either the writer or requestor process.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. There are several reasons for this error, but you'll need to find out why the Microsoft VSS service is failing. Following is a link with instructions to further troubleshoot this on your own, if you're so inclined.
