Having issues with Norton Live Update

Hi there!

I have been having some issue lately with my Live Update- it runs and installs several updates, however upon completion it says "Failed to Complete" and shows that "Norton Web Protection Definitions" and "Norton Web Protection Definitions (hub)" failed to complete. I have scoured the forum for solutions and found that updating the time clock and waiting/attempting multiple updates usually solve the problem though these did not work for me.

Also, I've noticed that on my norton home page it says "Last Scan: Not Completed" as well. I did recently restore my computer, but I'm not sure if that would be related to what I'm seeing. Full System Scan and Quick Scan both work and complete without issue, it looks like it's just a cosmetic problem, but I'd like a second opinion.

If anybody can shed some light on what is going on, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi Alpharaider47,

Generally, liveupdate failures are due to server outages and are usually fixed in short order. Sometimes they can last longer. The images provided below are from NIS 2012 .. I have since upgraded to the current version. They serve the same purpose here. It's usually best to try again later with liveupdate. As long as you continue to receive your Pulse updates, you're Ok.

If you did a system restore, they are notorious with playing havoc with your Norton product. It's difficult to say in this case. See if the problem clears up within' 24 hours. Check to see that you're getting your pulse and virus definitions as in the last image.
