i paid for my sub yesterday after my 30 day trial.
this is my first comp. since 1992. bought a netbook back in june with MacAfee then the comp. bug bit hard (this is a GOOD bug/virus) so i bought this dual core baby (im still amazed, dual cores?! my old one was a top of the line 486sx way back when...) with norton on it.
as u can imagine, im not that comp. savvy so i was very skeptical with norton. it was nothing like my MacAfee ; all weird and yellowy.
but as i researched it and examined the serious reviews that put all AVs thru the grinder i was quickly plzed that i had the top-rated AV out there.
then of course comes the time when that yellowy norton sigil pops up blaring that it blocked an "intrusion attempt". for a newby like me, such a thing makes you jump outta yer skin. intrusion? where, who, WHY?
i understand that norton uses top-notch tech. skills to find and eliminate threats but to me the very best thing is the easy to use and understand interface. one click tells me all i need to know about the blocked intrusion and that norton has kept my system safe from harm. that glowing green check mark signals peace of mind.
so i did pony up the 50 bucks for the renewal. i did however consider the freeware but my system runs so quickly now i cant imagine a free AV having such a similar light footprint.
so far so good with norton
