Help! I'm a little confused...

I have just purchased the box version of NIS 2013 from Amazon and before installing it I decided to take a look at the comments about it on these foruns. I read quite a number of threads about many different problems issues this version seems to bring along with it.

Question: What is the present situation with Identity Safe? Can I keep having it locally after installing NIS 2013 or do I have to settle for whatever someone decides is best for me, in this case, with a cloud version of the safe? I don't really like the idea of having all my passwords stored somewhere in the web... or in a cloud!

And of all those other issues raised by different users, which important ones still remain unresolved at this point in time? And what are the prospects for them being resolved in the near future, say a couple weeks?

Would I be the better off  holding on installing the new version 2013 and waiting for the dust to settle and keep using NIS 2012, even if I need to apply this license key I just received with my purchase? I would ratker do this, but how exactly would I achieve it?

Thanks for any help someone could provide.
