Help me understand

Let me further add one clarification.

The auto-fix tool is a dynamically updated set of diagnostics that customer support creates. They generally are designed to detect and remediate situations that are known to cause Norton products problems. Those situations don't always cause Norton problems, though. This means that some 'problems' might be detected and fixed by auto-fix even though your Norton product is also fully functioning.

Thanks Reese-

So does that mean one should periodically run the auto fix tool?  I don't mean everyday, but maybe monthyly run the auto fix?

Is a monthly autofix run advisable?

The auto-fix tool is intended to be run when your Norton product or customer support ask you to run it. I, personally, would not recommend running it under any other circumstances. Some people run it regularly with great success but I don't see a need for it to be used preventively.
